In this last episode of "Other Institutions" topic we will visit two different contexts outside university where education happens through experimentation and participation. The first context is our cities, considering urban space as a place where we all can learn together. The second one would be the primary and high schools, spaces where innovative experiences show us new paths and methodologies transferable to a more sustainable, vivid and collaborative university.

David Cárdenas -
Inteligencias Colectivas (IC) is an open research and design platform working around constructive details, objects and tactical urbanism that exist outside of a normative or standardized framework. IC emerged in 2010. It has carried out more than 20 projects in 15 countries. In these projects, field work is combined with the manufacture of prototypes in open participation workshops, based on horizontal pedagogies and mutual learning processes. David Cárdenas works as an artist and illustrator and has been a member of IC since 2015.

Arenas Basabe Palacios
Arenas Basabe Palacios es una oficina de arquitectura y urbanismo afincada en Madrid. Sus socios, Enrique Arenas, Luis Basabe y Luis Palacios, han ganado una treintena de premios en concursos, éxito que les ha valido el encargo de dos barrios en Viena, desarrollados mediante procesos colaborativos y actualmente en fase de construcción. Su experiencia profesional en el planeamiento colaborativo la transmiten en la docencia de Proyectos en la ETSAM. Silvia Muñoz, colaboradora en el estudio y mentora en las clases, se ha sumado a esta transferencia metodológica académico-profesional. Participa Luis Palacios Labrador, doctor arquitecto, profesor asociado DPA-ETSAM y socio fundador de Arenas Basabe Palacios.
Laura Terré & Xavier Batlle -
#avuixdemà2024 is the educational innovation project of the 24 FEDAC schools in Catalonia, based on the conviction of the transforming power of education in people and society. Its objective is to transform the paradigms that have dominated education until now by responding to 24 challenges. Xavier Batlle is an educator at the FEDAC Sant Narcís school and Laura Terré is responsible for communication at the FEDAC.
Lucas Tello -
NEMESIS is a European project bringing together education and social innovation. It combines innovative learning models, open technologies and participatory relations and processes. The objective is to foster social mindsets and creative thinking among primary and secondary students. Schools from across Europe have developed Co-Creation Labs where students had the opportunity to work together in the development of social projects together with communities in their surrounding neighborhoods. Lucas Tello will present NEMESIS as part of ZEMOS98, which is one of the partners on this Horizon2020 project.
